Black Widow specialise in the production, and management, of standards based, accessible, web sites.
The company was founded by Mel Pedley - a female IT consultant and web developer - who felt that the larger web design companies were overlooking the needs of smaller businesses and organisations, especially those run, or managed, by women. Non-IT proficient business managers reported that they were often baffled by technical jargon and many female managers felt intimidated, or patronised, by IT professionals.
Over the years, we have found that our particular blend of technical expertise and jargon-free support has been especially welcomed by female entrepreneurs and female managed organisations.
We have more than eighteen years IT experience, nine years experience in web design and have developed a thorough understanding of web surfing behaviour. This knowledge, allied with our effective design techniques and promotional tools, can make your web site work for you 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
All of our designs and coding work is of the highest standard and is fully compliant with all current web guidelines - including those promoted by the Web Accessibility Initiative, World Wide Web Consortium and the UK's DRC.
We are also Full Members of the Association of Independent Computer Specialists and abide by the Association's Code of Practice.
