Race For Life

A friend of mine is participating in the women-only “Race For Life” event in Liverpool on June 17th. I’m busy arranging to get a Black Widow baseball cap for her to wear during the event so that the company can officially sponsor her.

Websites of UK’s Top 100 Companies Criticised

The UK’s largest listed companies are not doing enough to make their websites accessible according to a recent report.

According to research conducted in March 2006 by Nomensa, 75% of the FTSE 100 companies it tested did not meet the minimum requirements of the Disability Discriminations Act.

Why is there always one…

…poster on a newsgroup who thinks that ‘discussion’ means repeating his/her opinion over and over again ad nauseum? And that using phrases such as ‘obvious’ or ‘logical’ means that everyone else should immediately agree?

My real bugbear is when they start resorting to personal attacks whilst insisting that they are retaining the moral high ground, being ‘perfectly reasonable’ and couldn’t possibly be offending anyone - least of all, the person they’re attacking.
