Why is there always one…

…poster on a newsgroup who thinks that ‘discussion’ means repeating his/her opinion over and over again ad nauseum? And that using phrases such as ‘obvious’ or ‘logical’ means that everyone else should immediately agree?

My real bugbear is when they start resorting to personal attacks whilst insisting that they are retaining the moral high ground, being ‘perfectly reasonable’ and couldn’t possibly be offending anyone – least of all, the person they’re attacking.

And whilst I’m here, why can’t some people get to grips with the concept of positive criticism? Or even better, trying to use it themselves? Criticism doesn’t have to be negative and feedback comments don’t have to be insulting.

Or is perpetual complaining just a habit?
