We haven&#8217;t had to use the wheelchair for weeks and he&#8217;s even walking to &#038; from school by himself. Yay!<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>He&#8217;s still on regular painkillers, meds &#038; the lidocaine patches but no TENS machine (which was something of a worry in school). No pain apart from the odd spasm that only lasts for a few seconds instead of an hour. The difference in him is amazing. He wants to go back to dance classes and everything but we&#8217;re being a lot more cautious.<\/p>\n<p>We&#8217;re going back to see his original surgical consultant on Feb 14 and the pain consultant on Feb 21. It&#8217;s the second appointment that&#8217;s the most important. We&#8217;re hoping that we&#8217;ll get the go ahead to stop the lidocaine patches but that the pain support team will keep monitoring K for a while yet. <\/p>\n<p>I still have a nagging feeling that the pain might be linked to growth spurts and that K might be just going through a no-growth period.
