The first batch I&#8217;ve made in ages (the candlemaking session I ran at the Discworld Con doesn&#8217;t count).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p>One pudding candle, four votives, four rolled beeswax votives and 9 beeswax tealights. That should keep me going for a little while given that I&#8217;ll be using more candles now that the nights are drawing in.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The only slight fly in the ointment is that there&#8217;s something wrong with my last lot of beeswax votives (made about 2 months ago). They won&#8217;t burn properly and keep going out. Maybe the wax was dirty? Or I&#8217;ve accidentally used the wrong wick (ie too small)? Ultimately, though, I have no idea.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I&#8217;m thinking of of trying to find out whether the zinc cored wick sold by Thornes is suitable for beeswax (ie square braided).
