Hey, it&#8217;s a big part of the web design\/development market now, OK?<\/p>\n<p>Bought an iPad 3 from Apple about 2 weeks ago (it was the free engraving from Apple that swung it in terms of a supplier). Needless to say, within a few days I was looking through my stash looking for some suitable yarn to make a cover. I decided that a crocheted cover would be better than a knitted one as it would be slightly thicker and, therefore, more protective.<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"clear:left\">Materials<\/h3>\n<p>Less than 100g DK or worsted yarn<br \/>\n4mm crochet hook<br \/>\n2 buttons<\/p>\n<h3>Cover Body<\/h3>\n<p>Chain 27<br \/>\n<strong>Row 1:<\/strong> sc into the second stitch from the hook, sc to end working a further 2 sc into the last stitch. DO NOT TURN. Instead sc along the  back of the chain &#8212; working 2sc into the first stitch at the other end. Slip stitch into first sc to join. (56 stitches)<br \/>\n<strong>Row 2:<\/strong> Chain 1, sc all the way around, slip stitch into first sc.<\/p>\n<p>Repeat Row 2 until the case is large enough to fit your iPad.<\/p>\n<h3>Flap<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Row 1:<\/strong> sc into first 28 stitches.<br \/>\n<strong>Row 2:<\/strong> chain 1, turn, sc into second stitch, sc across to end, putting an sc dec in last two stitches.<br \/>\nRepeat Row 2 6 times.<\/p>\n<h3>Buttonholes<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Row 1:<\/strong> Chain 1, turn, sc into first 3 stitches stitch, chain 2, skip 2 stitches, sc across to the last 5 stitches, chain 2, skip next 2 stitches, sc to end.<br \/>\n<strong>Row 2:<\/strong> DO NOT TURN. Slip st to end of flap, turn and sc along the flap edge &#8212; including the buttonhole chains.<\/p>\n<h3>Finishing<\/h3>\n<p>Break yarn and weave in the ends.<br \/>\nAdd buttons.<\/p>\n<p>At this point, I decided to line my case body with soft cotton &#8212; slip stitching the lining to the case body whilst the iPad was inside to ensure a good fit.<\/p>\n<p>End result: one nice snug &amp; protective iPad cover.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>After mulling it over for a month or so, I decided that the business needed an iPad.
