I adapted the stripe pattern from a Scottish plaid for this but you might want to chose a different stripe pattern.<\/p>\n

100gm navy DK (N)
\n50gm light brown (B)
\n50gm purple (P)
\n5mm hook<\/p>\n

Crochet Instructions<\/h3>\n

With N, ch 27.<\/p>\n

Row 1: Dc in 4th ch from hook, * dc in next ch, repeat from * across . Ch 3, turn.<\/p>\n

Row 2: Dc in next dc, * dc in next dc, repeat from * across, ending with dc in 3rd ch of turning ch. Ch 3, turn.<\/p>\n

Repeat Row 2, work 4 more rows with N.<\/p>\n

Continue in following sequence starting with the 4 rows of B.<\/p>\n

Color sequence for rows<\/h4>\n

6 rows N, 4 rows B, 2 rows P, 2 rows N, 2 rows B, 2 rows N, 2 rows P, 4 rows B.
\nFinish with 6 rows N.<\/p>\n

Vertical Weaving<\/h3>\n

Using tapestry needle threaded with 3 strands of same color, weave yam vertically through spaces. Begin at side edge, weave over and under deach mesh space, leaving 7 inches for fringe at each end. Cut yarn. Weave 2nd vertical row beginning with under, then over.<\/p>\n

4 rows N, 2 rows B, 2 rows P, 2 rows N, 2 rows B, 2 rows N, 2 rows P, 2 rows B.<\/p>\n

Finish with 4 rows N.<\/p>\n

Work 1 row sc along edges with N.<\/p>\n

Fringe<\/h3>\n

For each 3-strand colour, use the hook to pull through a loop incorporating all 3 strands, pull both free ends through the loop and tighten evenly. Repeat along both ends. Trim evenly.<\/p>\n
