The next few days, neither of us could do much more than watch TV and survive on fluids and paracetamol. K’s cough worsened to the point where it sounded really painful — although he was rather proud of his new ability to “cough a tune”. Luckily for me, I didn’t develop a cough — just a lot of muscular pain.

Miraculously, R escaped unscathed and was able to shop & cook for everyone. Not sure what we would have done if he had become ill too. On the plus side, I was able to some crocheting — especially towards the end of the week. I completed my hexagon patchwork throw and it came in very handy during my shivering spells. I also crocheted a diagonal stripe cushion cover which now just need a cushion to go in it. Given that I’m feeling a lot better now, I might be able to get out and buy that later this week.

Tonight we had our first “proper” home cooked meal in over a week and I even managed to bake some bread. K is going back to school tomorrow and I’ll probably manage a few hours work too. In the meantime, K & I have vowed to try and get a flu shot next winter…

It’s been a pretty rough 8 or 9 days here.
