Since I wanted the final scarf to be as loose as possible, I opted for a dropstitch pattern that my mother taught me when I was about 12 and wanted to knit a 6 foot scarf inside a week!<\/p>\n<p>She called it &#8220;<q>French Knitting<\/q>&#8220;. I just called it &#8220;<q>Really, <strong>Really<\/strong>, Fast Knitting<\/q>&#8220;.<\/p>\n<p>So as well as giving me the looseness I wanted, this dropstitch also had the benefit of knitting up very quickly as every 4th row increased the length by the equivalent of 3 rows!.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<h3>Materials<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>100gms DK\/worsted yarn (example shown used 100gms Sirdar Medici)<\/li>\n<li>5mm needles<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Gauge<\/strong>: Not important.<\/p>\n<h3>Dropstitch Pattern:<\/h3>\n<p>Row 1: Work each stitch as a normal knit stitch but wrap the yarn around the right-hand needle 3 times instead of once.
