So bear this in mind when  working out how many stitches you need to cast on and how many inches you need to work.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<h3>Materials<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>50gms Debbie Bliss Alpaca Silk<\/li>\n<li>Set of 4mm double pointed needles<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Seed Stitch:<\/h3>\n<p>Row 1: K1, PI<br \/>\nRow 2: P1, KI<\/p>\n<h3>Directions<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Gauge:<\/strong> 4 or 5 stitches per inch<\/p>\n<h4>Case Body<\/h4>\n<p>Cast on 40 stitches  (or a suitable even number of stitches) and join to work in the round.<br \/>\nWork in stocking stitch for approximately 7 inches.<br \/>\nBind off 20 stitches (half the number you originally cast on)<\/p>\n<h4>Flap<\/h4>\n<p>Continue working the remaining 20 stitches in seed stitch for a further 2 inches<br \/>\nBind off<\/p>\n<h3>Finishing<\/h3>\n<p>Crochet a button loop<br \/>\nAttach button.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>My old spectacle case was looking decidedly worse for wear, so I decided to spend a few hours knitting myself a case that I&#8217;d actually enjoy using.
