In the end, it decided it wanted to be a bag.

I’ve always wanted to try out the Unbiased bag pattern, so I thought I’d give it a whirl using this yarn.

This was more of a cotton-type, scrappy, yarn rather the silky type that clearly needed larger needles than the pattern recommended. 6.5mm needles gave a slightly tight stitch which was ideal for a bag and I used 5.5mm needles for the strap. I also made it slightly larger than the pattern suggested.

The end result was a cross between a Tardis & a Mary Poppins’ bag. Looks small but can hold a surprising amount of ‘stuff’. I’m really pleased with it. The only problem is that I’ve still got almost 300gms of yarn left!

UPDATE
After using the bag for a while, I decided to line it, add a couple of heavy duty snaps and decorate one side with crocheted flowers & leaves.
