Online Sock Pattern Generator
The Online Sock Pattern Generators have had all of the kinks ironed out of them and a couple of extra bits added.
So far, I’ve completed about 10 pairs of adult’s socks (short and long) and about 8 pairs of short children’s socks using the generated patterns and they’ve all worked out just fine. I’ll try and post a few photo when I get a chance.
The generated patterns are for socks knitted on 4 or 5 double-pointed needles with reinforced Dutch heels.

Love this. Great, and greatly appreciated as I am fairly new to sock knitting. Now, would it be possible to have this but with a short row heel, How about a toe up version? When I get more experience, I’ll try to do something similar myself. In the meantime ,many many thanks

Unfortunately, I hate-re both toe-up socks and short row heels. I tried a toe-up, short-row, pattern again a few weeks ago and ended up frogging it because the heel looked lumpy to me. If someone else could do the maths, I’d be willing to code the script. Just don’t ask me to test it. 🙂

That’s fantastic! I have a calculator for an in the round one piece sweater, but this is great! Can’t wait to get knitting up socks for my kids and nieces. Particularly useful for spinners who have wool of unstandard diameters…..
