Glasses Case
My old spectacle case was looking decidedly worse for wear, so I decided to spend a few hours knitting myself a case that I’d actually enjoy using.
Now at least I get to handle alpaca and silk yarn on a daily basis…
I also felted my case slightly but bear in mind that this will reduce the size (especially the length) of the case a little. So bear this in mind when working out how many stitches you need to cast on and how many inches you need to work.
Materials
- 50gms Debbie Bliss Alpaca Silk
- Set of 4mm double pointed needles
Seed Stitch:
Row 1: K1, PI
Row 2: P1, KI
Directions
Gauge: 4 or 5 stitches per inch
Case Body
Cast on 40 stitches (or a suitable even number of stitches) and join to work in the round.
Work in stocking stitch for approximately 7 inches.
Bind off 20 stitches (half the number you originally cast on)
Flap
Continue working the remaining 20 stitches in seed stitch for a further 2 inches
Bind off
Finishing
Crochet a button loop
Attach button.
