Something, nothing and everything…

Quick Wrap

Quick Wrap A simple dropstitch pattern to make a very quick wrap ready for summer evenings.

I used Cygnet Grousemoor aran weight yarn and 6.5mm needles but it could be made using any weight yarn and the appropriate needles. Some of the shiny ribbon yarns would probably work well for a more glamorous evening wrap.

Materials:

  • 200gms/400yds aran weight wool
  • 6.5 mm needles (US 10½)

Gauge:

Who cares? It’s a wrap!

Final Size

24 inches x 60 inches (unstretched)

Directions

Cast on 30sts and knit 1 row.

Row 1: Work each stitch as a normal knit stitch but wrap the yarn around the right-hand needle 3 times instead of once. Draw all 3 loops onto the right-hand needle and then drop the stitch off the left hand needles as per usual.

Row 2: Knit into the first of the three loops on the left-hand needle then push all three loops off the left hand needle. You may need to pull down gently on the work after this row is complete to pull the stitches out evenly.

Repeat until the wrap is the desired length finishing with Row 2.

Bind off. Block if desired.
