What Happened To All Of The Spoons?

  • October 9, 2006 9:31 pm

I seem to have hit a distinct spoon shortage.

My guess is that it’s a combination of the lupus symptoms, a mild sinus infection that’s been going on for a while plus a cold courtesey of Son No.2. Sitting and typing isn’t a problem but as soon as I try to do something physical, I’m reduced to a quivering wreck pining wistfully for a nice warm bed. When this happens at 1pm when the only thing you’ve done is a 40 minute trip to the shops, this ain’t normal!

We cleared some of the rubbish out of the loft at the weekend. It almost killed me…

The next time someone wibbles on about the need to take enough physical exercise, I may just have go for their throat. Would this be classed as justifiable homicide, I wonder…?

Not A Good Day

Current Mood: Tired 🙁

Today has not been one of my better days, spoon-wise. I ache all over.

You name a joint. It hurts!

Not sure what is worse… Trying to ignore it and carry on working – which, at least, gives me something else to focus on rather than the pain. Or try to rest more – which inevitably means that I notice the pain even more.

Mind you, our copy of Wintersmith arrived the other day and, since His Nibs has now finished reading it, I suppose I could try reading that.

Problem is – I’m not sure I have the energy.

Ow!

Current Mood: Sad 🙁

Maybe it’s stress-related (see yesterday) but I’ve had a lot of pain over the past few days.

The physio thought it was a lupus flare.

And Another One Bites The Dust

  • September 7, 2006 12:21 pm

I’ve been discharged from the latest round of physio appointments now that I’ve mastered the exercises for my neck. However, before I left, the therapist told me that I can go back anytime I need help and I won’t need a doctor’s referral.

I don’t know whether to view this as a Good Thing ™ or be worried that I’ve got an open invitation.

Hospital

Cuurent Mood: Pleased 🙂

I had an appointment at the local orthopaedic unit today. I’ve been going there for about a year now because of the bad wrist which, in turn, resulted in a bout of septicaemia thanks to a steroid injection last October.

The good news is that they’ve decided that the wrist is as good as it’s going to get and that they can safely discharge me.

One less hospital appointment to remember/fit in.
