Rolled Beeswax Candle Supplies

I recently ran a rolled candle making event at the Discworld Convention and I had a number of people asking me where they could buy more supplies. So, for those who attended (or anyone else who is interested), here’s a list of the supplies we used:

  • Natural, 13 7/16” x 8″ beeswax foundation sheets
Each sheet made two 7½ candles. You can also buy the 16″ sheets which will simply give you two 8″ candles
  • No 1A, 3/4″ square braid wick
5 metres should be enough for 20 7-8″ tapers.
  • Applique Wax for decoration
You need to scroll down about halfway down the page. I bought a pack of 12 assorted sheets which was sufficient for around 60 candles with plenty left over.

I buy all my supplies from Thorne (Beehive) Ltd. If you’re not in the UK, you may be able to find local suppliers but check the prices carefully first – especially in hobby/craft shops where supplies tend to be more expensive.

Instructions for making a range of rolled beeswax candles – including the tapers we made – can be found in the Candles section of this blog.
