Lace Cashmere Shawl
I treated myself to 100gms (1000 yards) of undyed laceweight cashmere last October.
Just before Xmas, I finally plucked up the courage to start work on a crocheted lace shawl based on Seraphina’s Shawl.
I finished it this weekend.
Having been a little scared about using such a fine yarn, I have to say that it worked up beautifully. I made it a lot shorter than my winter Seraphina (which was made using a silk/cotton aran weight yarn) but it still has 26 shells on each edge and it will undoubtedly lengthen when I (gently) block it.
I also added an extra row along the edge to lengthen and emphasis the shells.
- Ch1, *sc evenly up to shell, sc in first dc of shell, (4dc, 3ch, 4dc) in ch2-space of shell, sc in last dc of shell*. Repeat from * to * then sc evenly to end.
I’m looking forward to wearing this when the weather gets a little warmer. Until then, I’ll stick with my winter Seraphina which I’m wearing pretty much every day! It’s wonderfully warm and its shape makes it extremely practical.
