Aphrodite Shawl
The last migraine really knocked me for six! Took a good 10 days until the brain was functioning well enough for me to do any coding work. So I crocheted instead.
I’d been eyeing up the Aphrodite/Pineapple Shawl for a while. Plus I made a Sunbeam 100% cotton triangular shawl last year that, whilst it was pretty enough, wasn’t really “me”. Triangular shawls never stay on the shoulders as well as a 3/4 circular shawl and I get fed up of dragging them back up every few minutes.
Solution: frog the triangular shawl and re-use the yarn for an Aphrodite shawl. Once the reclaimed yarn had been washed and dried, it only took 2 days to make the new shawl. Now I know why it’s sometimes called a Pineapple Shawl — though the pineapples are rather elongated. Rather pleased with the shawl itself. I’ve already worn it far more in a week than I ever wore the triangular one.
The yarn is really nice and relatively easy to work with – although, as it’s only twisted, you do have to watch out that you don’t split the strands. I’d definitely use this yarn again — if I could find some. Pretty sure it’s been discontinued.
