The Big Denim Project: The Results
Sewed the snaps onto the denim bag yesterday afternoon, so I now declare The Big Denim Project finished!
Skirt 1 is the one I widened by adding inserts into the side seams. Skirt 2 was fine “as made”. The bag is trimmed and lined with fabric left over from Skirt 1. I still have about 1 yard of that fabric left, and since it is absolutely gorgeous, I’ll just have to think of something to do with it.
The potholders are made from the hems and side seams of jeans. The upper of the 2 larger ones was made a few months ago from the left overs of my denim rag rug. That one proved so useful that I made another two. The hems/seams are just coated with tacky glue on one side and coiled to make a mat. Takes about 15 minutes to make one.

Update: N just handed me three pairs of old denims that he doesn’t want! A denim patchwork rug, perhaps?
