Michael Black
Michael (from AfroMarketing) wanted an eShop Extras plugin. So he contacted us on Feb 20 in a very sparse email asking for a quote. Needles to say, we asked for some more details. And that’s when Michael’s complaining gene kicked in…
Why, he moaned, was there was a 48hr delay whilst we tried to get details (ie how many text inputs)? Presumably he conveniently ignored the fact he’d provided naff all in the way of details so far. Either way, Michael wanted the plugin “in a timely manner” (e.g yesterday).
12 hours later — another email. His 3 text inputs from the day before had now mysteriously turned into 2 text inputs plus 1 dropdown with no less than 16 separate multicolour combinations. Obviously we’re psychic web developer who should have known this when he first contacted us. Now where is my psychic web browser…?
The same email is also contained yet more comments about bad service blah blah blah.
By this point, we’d had enough and politely declined to take on his “job”. We’ve seen enough jerks to recognise one when we see one. And we have enough experience to avoid working with such people if we can possibly avoid it.
Needless to say, this refusal of his work offer was followed by yet more email abuse. According to his web site, Michael is a business/marketing advisor who knows all about web design and how to use the Internet. Does he advise all of his clients to act this way? If so, I pity them.
