Ravelry WordPress Widget
I stumbled across the Ravelry API page & the Progress Bar code last week and immediately thought “That would make a great widget”
. Someone did create a WordPress Progress Bar plugin about 4 years ago but it has never been updated. Also it still required site admins to add some JavaScript to their sidebar or pages manually.
So I decided to create a plugin widget that you just needed to drag & drop into (say) a sidebar. Of course, then I decided to see what else I could build into the widget as well as the Progress Bars and decided that a list of FO would also be nice.
After 2 days (and some swearing as I hate JavaScript), the My Ravelry widget plugin was born and added to this blog (see the lower sidebar). Absolutely no coding is required. You can even customise the colour of the progress bar and configure how many FO to display through the widget itself.
If you do use the plugin on your WordPress site, I’d love to hear your comments and/or see what you’ve done with it.
