I Aten't Dead

Something, nothing and everything…

Panic over…

K went missing for about 45 minutes earlier today.

When I say ‘missing’, I mean we couldn’t find him, it was lunchtime and he wasn’t beating the door down demanding food with menaces. For a six year old who probably lists eating as one of his top 3 occupations, this was a Major Hiccup.

He was supposed to be playing at his friend’s house but when N went there to get him, there was no reply. Much scouring of the local streets then began with everyone’s heads on swivels every time we heard another child call out or laugh.

Just when things were starting to feel Really Serious, K re-appeared out of his friend’s house. Seems he’d been there all along and had even had a ‘snack’ whilst he was there (which accounts for the 45 minute appetite delay). So – no harm done other than K got a mild telling off for not coming in on time.

However, I’m now left wondering why N couldn’t get an answer when he called at the friend’s house. I did suggest, at the time, that perhaps N been knocking on the wrong door but neither R nor N took that seriously.

So I suppose I’ll have to just say “I told you” under my breathe. And where’s the fun in that?
