Oh No! Not Again…

  • November 19, 2006 8:54 pm

My left shoulder and wrist have started hurting again.

This may have something to do with the fact that I’ve been working every hour possible trying to put together about 200 Powerpoint slides and 50 pages of notes for a workshop in a week’s time.

It also wasn’t helped by the fact that my left hand suddenly gave way under me last night as I was moving – wrenching both the wrist and shoulder.

Looks like it’s time to start using Dragon again…

Flare

  • November 12, 2006 10:55 pm

OK – it wasn’t K’s fault that I felt rotten. It was a lupus flare.

I’m over the worst of it now (high temperature, dizziness etc) but still dealing with some residual pain in most joints. Still, the worst passed pretty quickly (3 days?), so it looks like the meds are working.

Is There A Bug Going Round?

K’s been ill today.

He went to the optician’s yesterday and later complained that the light that had been shone into his eyes had given him a bad headache. So bad that we had to pick him up from school before lunch time.

Within a few hours, he had a high temperature.

An hour later, he threw up!

Mild Flare Forecast

  • November 6, 2006 9:18 pm

Started feeling distinctly ropey last night.

Lots of joint pain out of the blue. Today, as expected, the pain continued – though not as bad as last night.

I guess it’s a flare but, as flares go, it’s pretty mild. Just painful and I’m a bit more tired than usual. Can’t really complain. It’s 5 months since I had a bad flare and about 2 months since I had a mild one.

Guess the new meds must really be working.

Bonfire Night

  • November 5, 2006 9:23 pm

However, we only had a few sparklers and some toffee (actually chocolate coated) apples.

Our yard-garden is so small that anything resembling a small bonfire would threaten the house. And the last time we tried to do the whole ‘firework thing’, there was so much smoke hanging over the yard that we could barely see the fireworks!

Fortunately K isn’t that bothered by fireworks whilst N is currently doing the whole “I’m way to cool to get excited about anything” teenage bit. So it wasn’t as if anyone felt they’d missed out on anything major.

Besides, there’s always everyone else’s fireworks to watch….

At Last!

K’s left adult front tooth is finally coming through.

Bearing in mind that this was the baby tooth he managed to knock out when he was only four, having a child with two front teeth after almost three years will be quite a novelty. With luck, it will be through properly in about 4 weeks or so. Which means he has between now and mid-December to sing “All I want for Christmas is my two front teeth”.

Scrap Wrap

  • November 3, 2006 3:12 pm

Just by way of knitting something quick and easy after the ‘cardigan fiasco’, I decided to knit a Scrap Wrap.

Actually, it’s more of a scrap scarf than anything that I’d call ‘a wrap’. Had it completed in about 4 days with another few hours to fringe it. Still not decided whether it looks great or just tatty but I’m leaning towards the former. Mind you, I think I was a bit mean with the fringing, so I’ll probably add some more fringes first and then decide.

Now, where did I put that spare DVD case?
