Is There A Bug Going Round?
K’s been ill today.
He went to the optician’s yesterday and later complained that the light that had been shone into his eyes had given him a bad headache. So bad that we had to pick him up from school before lunch time.
Within a few hours, he had a high temperature.
An hour later, he threw up!
Fortunately, that was the only ‘projectile’ episode we had to deal with but the high temperature continued until the early hours when it finally broke.
Today he’s better but still not 100%. His appetite is poor (not a good sign for someone who’s normally a stomach on legs) and he started complaining about a very sore throat this evening. Bad enough to actually stop him eating completely! I’m not sure if he’ll be well enough to go back to school tomorrow,
Now, is it just coincidence that both Mum and Dad have had headaches for the last 24 hours and that Mum has a mild temperature (could be due to that slight lupus flare)? Or has our Little Darling once again managed to act as Plague Carrier Central and infect us all?
I guess only time will tell. In the meantime, I will muse on the evolutionary role of 6 year old children. I’m almost sure they’re some kind of ‘survival of the fittest’ population control system.
